How the Mind Works

This teaching explains the mind as a pattern of past-based, chemically-driven responses layered over the brain’s physical functions. Our thoughts are rarely about the present moment—they’re shaped by memory, biology, and emotional chemistry. Understanding this interplay reveals how nutrition, fear, and environment affect mental clarity and offers insight into true awareness.

Most wondrous. Each of you holds conscious thought.. to some extent. The extent to which you hold conscious thought is the extent that you utilize the defensiveness of the conscious mind. That is most wondrous, is it not?

There are two things you may then regard, so for today’s lesson there is mind and there is brain. Brain is a physical, 3 dimensional accumulation of bonded, small entities that have their own process of existence. They live upon the chemical interchange that is received from the different organs of your body, and they thrive upon that which is the electrical / chemical impulses that they exchange between each other.

Brain of itself has no mind. Other way you may think of it is…brain never minds. What makes mind is the association and the interaction of those chemical interchanges when they happen, how they happen. What pathway they take throughout the physical brain.

So for today, we will play some amount in your understanding of the mind in relationship to the physicalness of it. And we will play somewhat with that which is the mind in the state that you place it for fear, for joy, for pleasure, for interaction, for need, desire, or want, for love, for hate, for anger, for creativity, for wonderment, for thought. That is good thing?

To hold a conscious thought, it is exhibited in a very small way. Do you wish to play a small game with conscious thought? Small game, utilizing the mind of you, that part of it that is the conscious part, and that part that is external to the unconscious part…try to think of something without using your memory. Can you?

Audience: It has to be right now.

Storyteller: Most wondrous. If it is that you look upon that, the very biggest part that you may understand about mind is…mind doesn’t work right now. Brain works right now, but mind does not. Mind searches for a sense of identity in relationship to the now. When it finds it, that identity only relates to what was. It may be a very short period of time between what was and what you relate to, but, mind does not relate to now. That is most wondrous, is it not?

If it is that you try to live right now, you must either eliminate any perceptive usage of anything you have known, in which case you become what you will call to be very much space case. You call it moon cookie, you call it airhead, you call it disjointed, and sometimes you call it unintelligible. So, ’tis most wondrous.

Mind, in itself, is obligated to pay attention to the past. That is first understanding. Mind pays attention to the past for that which is the fluctuations of the chemicals within the body. Your mind, as you know it, is a defensive thing. Yes. It is also an observing thing. It is a learning thing and it is an active thing, but it is all focused upon the past.

If it is then, that the mind becomes mired in too far of the past, you become disjointed and unable to learn new things. If it becomes mired in too much of the present, you feel yourself very much of anxiety. So, today we will play with how to keep your mind from becoming too much mired in any one given thing, providing that the chemicals and the physicalness of your brain are in balance along with it.

A: How will we know when they are in balance?

ST: You won’t.

A: Will we know after today?

ST: No. But you will know when they aren’t.

A: Yahweh, what about the whole egg thing. We hear on the news about salmonella, that eggs aren’t clean. I don’t know whether to ask you this question in the class on “Intuitive Abilities” or this class.

ST: Thing that you may understand in these things of whole eggs. Not all require whole eggs. For some, whole eggs are not good things to have. For those that they are good things to have, salmonella as you call it, is not in every egg. Other part is, for the ones that you choose, you will not necessarily always choose one that has it. If it is then that you don’t always choose one, you can cause yourself to react out of fear for the salmonella and eat no eggs. Do that. Don’t eat any eggs, if you desire.

A: Well, this doesn’t apply only to the egg situation. But I notice a lot of times that I don’t have a fear about something, and then I talk with somebody and then I start thinking in a different way after I talk with them if they have a fear. And I want to know how to be able to hear things like that without taking on the fear.

ST: That you will have today. This is brain. This is thought. This is brain, this is mind. This happens as a result of there being an electrical / chemical connective place from here to here. Not necessarily that exact pattern, but for the example then, that is the thing you may see.

The movement happens then, that all of these together produce a swirling mist of energy within the brain that becomes a pattern to the thalamic region and to the speech centers and to the thought centers.

So you may view it and interpret it, and then you have a picture. You have a meaning. You have intelligence. The intelligence of that is derived by the combination of all the thoughts, more by the chemical interconnections.

To you, it is a most mysterious thing and you do not have to pay too much concern to it, except that there are things that happen within the physical body which cause this to not take place exactly the same way you learned it, exactly the same way you saw it.

If it is that the body’s Allegiance organs are not producing the form of chemicals that are balanced in relationship to the brain’s usage, you can have uncomfortable synaptic firings, which make this connect to here as well as to here, and to here, and to here. That makes then, two meanings for the same thing. Sometimes two meanings for the same thing are useful. So, that is then useful.

There are three pathways for the same chemical discharging of the synaptics of the brain. Those things are useful, but there are also aberration things. They are things that are not useful. If the organs of Allegiance, that of the endocrine system, becomes greatly out of balance, or even momentarily out of balance, your thought processes become confused. You know this, some of you for that which is a thing that you call to be PMS, you know this for that which is a thing you call to be stress related job factors. You know this for paranoia, schizophrenia, and other small aberrations. Those things are because the chemicals that are inside the brain are causing to be unlearned thought pathways.

A: Is that Alzheimer’s?

ST: Yes. Those things interfere with mind. They interfere with that which is the place of you to be able to have consistency of thought. Do you wish to know other things that disturb the endocrine system? Excessive alcohol, for what happens with it, is the organs of Allowance, those filtering organs, the liver, the kidneys, the things that filter out of the blood the things that do not belong there, are overworked trying to purge the poison out of your body. While they are working to purge the poison out of your body, they are using a great amount of some of the chemicals that are needed for the brain to function properly.

A: Then it would be the same with sugar as alcohol?

ST: Yes. Anything that causes the organs of Allowance to be overworked will cause interference to that which is the thought processes. If you eat too much, do you feel like being very creative mentally? You understand this thing then.

A: What about then, when you say that there are times people need sugar and some of, like I’m Will and Power, and I think that you said Will and Power people need more sugar…

ST: More proteins, more whole proteins. There is a chemical that is produced in that which is the pituitary system in combination with the endocrine system, which you will call to be serotonin. The brain produces this and it is the primary thing that keeps you from over reacting. It stops the firing from becoming too big. This firing happens because this cell says I have a lot of things to give out and it becomes very much energized and it gives it out to this one. If it is too high, if it is too much energy, the next cell becomes overdriven. That causes it to split out as so. That causes aberrant behavior, you will call it to be spaciness.

For the physical body, it also can result in that which is depletion of the proteins that are then interpreted to hair, depletion of that which is the nourishment to then the nerve endings, and depletion of that which is the follicles for hair. Males, other things of your physical body.

The serotonin then, not being enough within the brain, causes the mind to become scattered, unable to focus connecting many things together.

A: What does caffeine do in that little picture you’ve got there?

ST: Caffeine in itself effects the neurological centers because of that which is the organs of Allowance and Allegiance. It depletes calciums, it depletes the things that help stimulate the serotonin.

A: Is serotonin the chemical that helps you sleep?

ST: That is a result of endorphic responses. That is a little different than serotonin. Serotonin itself stops the cell from overexerting itself until it explodes.

A: Does diet pop deplete calcium?

ST: Yes.

A: More so in women than men?

ST: No.

A: Even say middle age and on?

ST: Only is it more so in women because it is that very often in your society women are ashamed to drink anything else but diet pop. You may.

A: On this serotonin thing then, I have read and been told that, for example, the amino acid L-tryptophan was a sleep inducer because it caused the brain to manufacture more serotonin than it normal would, which had a calming effect on the nervous in the brain, thereby inducing sleep.

ST: L-tryptophan does this, but that is not what causes the sleep. Lack of ability to have thought process makes to be go to sleep. The form of it is, instead of not producing enough there is a chemical within this of the brain, an enzyme, a catalyst, that causes the firing and one that stops the firing. Serotonin stops the firing. If you produce more serotonin, you counteract the one that starts the firing. Or you could counteract the one that starts the firing and not have to have as much serotonin. This thing that you know of as L-tryptophan does not produce more serotonin, it decreases the ratio of this serotonin to the other chemical.

A: By decreasing the other chemical?

ST: Yes. So it is that the brain appears to have a proportionally larger amount of serotonin. It makes you sleep but also makes you lethargic.

A: But then while were talking about L-tryptophan, what is the cause of this disease then – I think it is called EMS – that is causing severe reactions in people, even life threatening?

ST: What happens if you don’t have synaptic firings of the brain? Neurological systems start to stop.

A: It seems to be a disease of the muscles though?

ST: Yes. The brain holds – you call it to be lizard brain – this place. This controls all of the entire nervous system. The firing of all of the muscles, the contraction of them happens by that which is brain cells that are a little longer and of a different shape, that are then attached to each one of the muscles and the cells of your body. You call them nerve fibers. They are simply elongated and highly specialized in their form as brain cells. To each cell of your body is connected to some way to these things. When it is that you use this drug, you are decreasing the synaptic firing chemical in the brain. The serotonin appears to be increased, but what has happened is that you have de-stimulated the cells. So there can be no talking from one cell to the next. What happen is this has cells in it just the same as this does. This becomes affected just the same as this is. [Illustrating.] So the muscles no longer have communication to that which is this of the brain. The brain forgets that they are there. And it also starts doing certain things of firing them in a different way, so you have muscle depletion and degeneration.

A: And extreme pain?

ST: Yes you also increase that which is the likelihood of the depletion of calcium because the body doesn’t know where it is supposed to go. So the bones become the source and the muscles do not return to the bones calcium. So you have arthritic condition that then begins to develop.

A: Well, the FDA has pulled the drug off the market claiming there are impurities in the pharmaceuticals that are sold in this country…. Is it the drug itself, or the impurities in the drug?

ST: It is the drug itself. The thought process that it then increases the serotonin the brain makes it appear that it is not the drug, but impurities.

A: But then why is it this drug has been around a long time and extensive use, why is it just now being traced to this disease?

ST: What other things do you have in your society now that are also decreasing that which is this of the output of the brain?

A: So it is interacting with the environment?

ST: Steroids. Toxins.

A: [Less oxygen] (? Barely audible.)

ST: Most wondrous.

A: So even an accumulation from meats and foods we’ve eaten for years, the things that have been put into those things—

ST: Yes.

A: — have built up in our bodies.

ST: That is so. You may.
