Risk

Original class description: (Probably not the original title, but this all we have.) About risks and the concept of risk.

Summary: This class explores the nature of risk as a concept shaped by perception rather than circumstance. The Storyteller explains that risk itself is neutral—a word given weight by the meaning individuals assign to it. True mastery of risk comes from reducing its scale: breaking challenges into smaller, manageable parts and focusing on what can be done now. The discussion highlights how aging shifts the balance between capacity and experience, often reducing genuine risk through wisdom and perspective. It also contrasts personal risk—which promotes learning and growth—with imagined or media-driven risk, which fosters unnecessary fear and paralysis. Participants are encouraged to treat global or social turmoil as information rather than personal danger, and to view risk as an opportunity to build skill, adaptability, and confidence. In essence, embracing risk consciously transforms fear into empowerment and motion into mastery.
